“Lydia and Vilkas are the worst companions I have ever had, ever. They are never there when I need help fighting only appearing after I kill a major enemy.”
I hope you realize that there some parts of storylines that followers aren’t allowed to go to. So yeah, they may not be there to help you fight, but I know for damn sure that Lydia is not a bad follower.
I feel like I’m the only person who doesn’t use Lydia as a follower. Why do people even use her? All I ever hear about her are complaints. She gets in the way, she dies too easily, she never shuts up, blah blah blah.. Yet they keep using her. I just don’t understand.
I think I used her once for about five minutes. In the span of those five minutes, she jumped in front of three of my arrows and aggro-ed a bear. That was the last time I even spoke to her. -_-
It’s kind of late and I’m pretty much just ranting, but does ANYONE have an explanation as to why people only want to use Lydia o.o?
A lot of people are probably complaining because she’s so weak when you first get her. If I remember correctly, the game is supposed to level your followers as you level but there’s currently a glitch that keep all non-essential followers at the level you are when you first meet them. That is unless you fix it.
I used the Wabbajack glitch to correct her level and honestly, she’s a fucking beast now.
But why do people seem to only want to use her? Probably because she’s generally the first and easiest follower to get. Until this glitch gets fixed, people should probably wait until their level is around 50 before they fix her level and use her. Of course, by then you’re probably strong enough to not need a follower. But in case you need an extra “godly” meat shield (who most likely won’t die), then Lydia is one of the better choices.
(If you get stuck in a doorway, just “run” into her. Seriously. You’ll push her back.)
Now I’m debating whether I should make this a skyrim fanfic or not
