First “Skyrim” Expansion ‘Dawnguard’ Now Has A Trailer
If you’ve finished everything to do in Skyrim and have nothing to do but murder peasants all day, why not check out your first opportunity to add more quests? The new expansion Dawnguard to the wildly popular fantasy-RPG seems to be much darker than its main story. It’s even got the dragons hiding under the ice.
Expect more information on Dawnguard next week at E3 2012.
SOMEONE PLEASE HOLD ME, I’M DYING OF EXCITEMENT!!!!
I’M GETTING THIS THE DAY IT COMES OUT OMGGGGG
Zenimax Media( Owner of both Bethesda Studios) trademarked the name “Hearthfire” under goods and/or services for”Computer game software for use with computers and video game consoles; downloadable computer game software offered via the internet and wireless devices”
The same was done for Dawnguard before it was announced- http://tarr.uspto.gov/servlet/tarr?regser=serial&entry=85546517
To see what this potential DLC could entail, Bethesda forum user Phyber pointed out the events during the month Hearthfire:
Heartfire is the ninth of the 12 seasons in the Elder Scrolls universe. It is considered to be a Fall (Autumn) month. (by our definition).
Annual Events during Hearthfire:
- 1st of Hearthfire: The Rites of Moawita practiced by the Psijic Order.
- 3rd of Hearthfire: Tales and Tallows - A celebration of Necromancy. Many citizens fear this day, and avoid the streets.
- 6th of Hearthfire: Khurat is celebrated in the Wrothgarian Mountains
- 12th of Hearthfire: Riglametha held in Lainlyn.
- 19th of Hearthfire: Children’s Day celebrated in Betony.
Seems like either the DLC could entail something with the Psijic Order, magic, necromancy, and/or High Rock. Or the trademark could be a trick on the marketing front since they could know people look up their trademarks like they did in the past for Skyrim, Oblivion’s DLCs and expansion, Oblivion, and I think for Morrowind and it’s DLCs/expansions too; Another thing to note is that Hearthfire is September in the Elder Scrolls universe http://www.imperial-library.info/content/calendar-tamriel, so maybe that’s when the DLC could be announced or released, a food for thought.
I’m betting on Necromancy
A Skyrim fan going by the handle of Kerellan has been poking around the Skyrim patch 1.5.26 update file, and has posted his findings regarding a “DLCO1” on the Bethesda forum.
According to Kerellan he found mention of Snow Elves, a Snow Elf prince, crossbows, new vampire feeding animations, and something prefixed “RF”, in the update file!
From The Elder Scrolls Wiki:
Not much is known of their origins, it is possible they were a hybrid of other Elven races.”
The Snow Elf statue of Irkngthand.
Gelatinous Dude recalls the large statue depicting a Snow Elf in the Dwemer ruins of Irkngthand, supposedly the only known visual representation of a Snow Elf in Skyrim..
Adam Adamowicz, the concept artist whose hand-drawn art inspired much of the visual style of Fallout 3 and TESV Skyrim, passed away this week from cancer. I wish I had known about him before because the kudos fall flat now, but in a way I guess we all saw through his eyes even if we didn’t realize it. RIP, Adam, and thank you.
David Carpenter (Evil FX) of BioWeapons.com is on a mission to create a full set of Skyrim Daedric armor! The first step of his journey was to knock out a killer set of swords. You can compare his with the in-game version here.
The video below gives an insight on how he constructed these two bad boys.
